Sandwich NT
A Sandwich NT is used to show a two-suited hand after both opponents have bid two suits. This NT is bid in the “sandwich” seat and shows less than an opening strength hand. If opening strength, consider bidding a takeout double.
- Maybe passed or unpassed hand
- Opener and responder must bid different suits
- NT overcall shows two unbid suits and less than opening strength. Allow partner to choose a suit if you are to pre-empt or sacrifice
- Atleast 5-5 in unbid suits, can be 6-5 or 6-6
- Maybe bid at 1 or 2 level
- If partner makes a responsive NT bid, asking you to pick a suit
